FAMILY PROPOSES CANADA WIDE GAS BOYCOTT
AS OF JUNE 15TH / 08 WE WILL BE CHANGING THE BOYCOTT STRATEGY.....IT'S TIME TO TRY SOMETHING NEW,
THEREFORE WE WILL NO LONGER BE DOING A MONTHLY ROTATIONAL BOYCOTT.
WE WILL BE BOYCOTTING ONE SUPPLIER ONLY . THAT SUPPLIER IS "IMPERIAL OIL" THEREFORE
WE ARE ASKING CANADIANS TO JOIN US AND REFRAIN FROM PURCHASING FUEL OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM "ESSO"
THE OLD BOYCOTT PLAN
Have you refrained from purchasing an SUV,Truck, or other luxury vehicle? Have you
told your family that you can't afford to go away to the cottage, trailer, or that family trip you've been planning? All because
of the ridiculous gas prices. Gas companies are the only ones that fluctuate their prices,
not once, but several times a day.
My name is WANDA HOLLIS, My family owns and runs a Used Car Lot, we can't put a
price on a vehicle in the morning and switch it every couple of hours as we see fit. You don't go into a store in the
morning and walk back in 1 hr. later and the prices have changed, and then go back that evening and see they've changed again.
When we make a store purchase, if we see it's gone down in price, we simply take the receipt in and receive a credit on the
amount for the difference. Almost "everywhere" offers price matching, sometimes with an additional 10% discount.
Are you sick and tired of leaving work in the morning and filling your gas tank only
to leave at lunch to see the price has changed, sometimes as much as upto 10 cents a litre, and when you go home
at night it's changed again.
We hear from our customers all the time that they need to buy a 4 cyl. vehicle
because it costs to much to run a 6 or an 8 cyl. They simply can't afford it. It's not the price of the vehicle, it's
the cost of the gas to run it.
Wouldn't it be great if they made larger vehicles with more fuel efficient engines, as not everybody has a small family and sometimes it's just better and more suitable to have a larger vehicle. I'm
sure you all wonder as I do, how it's possible that these gas companies can get away with fluctuating their prices whenever
they want, or how they can justify putting the price of gas up as high as they want.
Why is it we pay several different prices all day, everyday, for gas that was put
in the reservoir at one cost? When that gas is gone, and it has to be filled again, then and only then should the
price change and it should be based on the cost of what it was to refill the reservoir. We shouldn't pay all different
prices for gas that was bought for one unit price.
We feel it's about time that the people of our country send a message, and that
is, that we are sick and tired of being controlled with what vehicle we purchase and where we can afford to go in it. Since
not all of us are able to, for some reason or other to get rid of our gas powered vehicles that we already
own. We must do something to make it affordable to be able to run them.
I, like most of you out there, have a family at home, and our family has
decided that we've had enough, it's time to take a stand. We believe that the only way it's possible to stop this from happening,
is for the people of this country to band together as one and boycott one at a time on a monthly bases each of Canada's
major gas companies, and refrain from purchasing a single drop of fuel from the one selected, for a consecutive 30 days. I'm
not suggesting we stop the purchase of gas, as we all know that's impossible. But simply BOYCOTT
from purchasing from the selected one, one at a time for 30 days, Buy your gas anywhere else that month but from that months
selected company. Can you imagine the financial impact this will have, if for a consecutive 30 days we BOYCOTT
one at a time the major gas companies here in Canada? We need to get their attention "RIGHT
NOW." It's the only way that we as a free country can take a stand and finally fight back.
I propose we band together as one "RIGHT NOW" starting APRIL
1st/07 and stop buying gas from one company at a time for a consecutive 30 days, by doing this I guarantee, we will
have made the 1st stand against our Government, the Refineries and these Gas Companies I'm positive they will get the
message. If we don't take a stand now, our children and their children will never
afford to drive or have the freedom that we are all entitled to, and that is to be able to go to work or travel in our vehicles
when ever we choose to.
